Microsoft Thailand has unveiled 5 key AI trends that Thai businesses need to watch in 2025, emphasizing the rapid development of AI and its growing role in both work and daily life. The company urges organizations to adapt quickly, increase their competitiveness, and ensure ethical AI implementation.

Dhanawat Suthumpun, Managing Director, Microsoft Thailand, revealed that AI is growing exponentially and will play a crucial role in driving organizations, increasing work efficiency, and fostering innovation. The five noteworthy AI trends for 2025 include:

1. Scaling Laws: AI’s Exponential Growth and Enhanced Capabilities

AI is rapidly evolving, defying traditional growth patterns. It is predicted that AI capabilities will double every six months due to powerful computing, new techniques applied to data, and advanced algorithms. Organizations need to adapt swiftly, leveraging AI to enhance competitiveness, reduce costs, and boost efficiency.

A 2024 IDC report states that 60% of organizations worldwide plan to fully integrate AI into their businesses within the next two years, particularly in education, healthcare, and finance. This reflects the critical role of AI in driving modern business.

“In less than two years, AI has advanced rapidly, capable of handling complex tasks and understanding communication naturally like humans, creating immense opportunities and benefits. We will increasingly see the difference between those who use AI and those who don’t. Currently, AI is an accessible technology for everyone,”

2. Agentic World: AI Agents as the New Workforce

AI agents will play a vital role in the workplace, assisting with routine tasks, allowing employees to focus on more critical work, and enabling organizations to utilize human resources effectively.

For instance, in the banking sector, AI agents can verify the accuracy and completeness of documents, check customer information, and alert staff upon detecting errors, saving time and increasing efficiency.

3. Multimodal AI: AI’s Enhanced Understanding Through Cross-Media Processing

Future AI will be capable of processing information from various media, such as text, images, and audio, for comprehensive contextual understanding and more natural human communication.

Currently, Microsoft’s Copilot supports text, voice, and image input, including new features like Voice Recognition and Sora, which generates videos from text. This will facilitate the creation of new services and enhance work efficiency.

4. Data Security: The Core of AI Utilization

Data security is paramount as AI can access all data. Organizations must exercise caution in data sharing and establish data governance guidelines to prevent breaches.

Microsoft recommends four approaches to data preparation for AI: knowing your data, controlling access, protecting information, and preventing data loss. The company also offers Microsoft Purview, a tool for real-time data security.

5. Responsible AI: Prioritizing Ethical Considerations

Ethical, fair, and responsible AI usage is crucial. Microsoft emphasizes transparent, fair, and secure AI practices, implementing AI guardrails to prevent misuse, such as privacy violations, criminal activity, or misinformation.

Dhanawat Suthumpun concluded, “AI is not just a technological trend; it’s a significant opportunity to revolutionize businesses, unlock limitations, and build new competitive advantages. The key to successful AI implementation lies in leadership support, clear AI strategies, upskilling and providing appropriate tools for employees, and control measures to ensure maximum benefit and responsible use.”
