Dr. Kirati Kijmanawat, AOT’s President, said, “AOT volunteered to plant forests In honor of His Majesty the King on the auspicious occasion of His Majesty the King’s 6th Cycle Birthday Anniversary 28 July 2024” was organized as an expression of loyalty and appreciation for the royal grace of His Majesty the King’s, along with the succession of His Majesty the King’s commitment to environmental conservation. Forest restoration, which is an important part of reducing global warming and creating a balanced ecosystem, as well as projects.
This is also an important project in line with AOT’s Sustainable Development Master Plan, which focuses on building and developing sustainability. Responsible for the environment and society, emphasizing the resolution of the issue of climate change, which is an important issue that AOT is committed to achieving Net Zero by 2027.
This project reflects AOT’s commitment to driving sustainability in all dimensions, including economic, social and environmental.
Planting forests will help increase green space and absorb carbon dioxide. Help reduce global warming and create balance with nature
It also helps increase oxygen in the air. Reduce the severity of forest fires and create completeness in the area.
This project is therefore a project to preserve and pass on the perfect environment to future generations. The goal of this project is to plant 72,000 trees. Planting just one tree can help absorb an average of 9-15 kilograms of carbon dioxide per year.
It also helps produce enough oxygen for 2 people per year as well as helping to reduce the temperature around the planting area by 2-4 degrees Celsius.
Dr.Kirati added that this year, the AOT’s executives and employees, airport operators, airlines, government agencies and communities in Kanchanaburi province will join together to plant honeycomb trees. which is an auspicious tree of King Rama X10, the teaksayamin tree, a plant conservation project due to the royal initiative, which is a rare plant with a long life of more than 1,500 years and Tonsak Thong, Between July 11th -12th 2024, at the area above Vachiralongkorn Dam, Kanchanaburi Province.
